A Chronological CV / resume is the most common type of CV. This format summarises your career /work history in the order in which you held these jobs, always starting with the most recent post.
A chronological CV / resume is usually used when someone is applying for a post in the same trade or when looking for a new opportunity or a promotion.
Advantages of using a Chronological CV:
An employer can easily see which organisations you have worked for, how long you were employed, what your main duties and achievements were.
- You can highlight any promotions you have been given in previous companies.
This example of a chronological CV / resume can be adapted to your needs. Make sure your personal profile reflects the job you are applying for and paints a clear picture of you as a professional and as a person.
Include the most relevant examples in the key skills section, then reinforce them in your employment record. Remember that your work record should be given chronologically with the most recent first.
Read what hobbies and interests on your CV say about you so that you can include interests that will show you in a good light.
